Our 4-week puppy school runs at a private indoor location near St Peters. Classes are small (maximum 8 puppies) and structured around both obedience skills and real-world socialisation. Over the four weeks, you and your puppy will work on:
- Basic obedience — sit, down, stay, come, leave it
- Loose leash walking and polite greetings
- Sound and object desensitisation
- Impulse control and calm behaviour around other dogs
- Common puppy challenges — biting, jumping, toilet training, chewing
- Understanding your dog’s body language and communication signals
Every class is practical and hands-on. You leave each session with specific techniques you can use at home straight away.
Do You Need to Wait Until Your Puppy Is Fully Vaccinated?
No — and this is one of the most important things to understand before you book. The advice to “wait until 16 weeks” before socialising your puppy is outdated and, according to current veterinary and behavioural guidelines, potentially harmful.
Your puppy’s first vaccination is enough to attend a well-managed indoor puppy class. Our venue is privately managed and cleaned with F10 — the same disinfectant used in veterinary clinics. Research consistently shows no increased health risk in well-run puppy schools.
The real risk is waiting too long. Missing the socialisation window is one of the leading causes of fear-based aggression, anxiety and reactivity in adult dogs.
